Meditation, in my opinion, is the only key to unlock a happy life.

It goes beautifully hand in hand with a Yoga practice or any exercise routine. It goes hand in hand with any prayer or religious worship, or goes right in line with a life without worship of any kind.

Meditation is beneficial for everyone from about the age of 3 to the elderly, scientifically and spiritually. But the source and main point of meditation is quite simple; overall health/fighting dis-ease, comfort and peace within the body and complete well being for life. I sat with a meditation expert from India once and was able to ask him one question. I asked him how to have a good, solid meditation practice and how to use that to be a good meditation instructor. His response was simple:

“meditate regularly.”

It needs not be more complicated or difficult than that. I find meditation to be the single most important thing we can do for ourselves in this life. Start small, just a minute a day, then slowly build your practice. Keep it simple. Do not complicate. Quiet the mind. Relax the body. Feel gratitude. Meditation is the only time we fully relax the mind and body while not being asleep. It is conscious relaxation and I think this practice is more rejuvenating, more beneficial and more important than sleep.
